The Northern Periphery Programme

ROADEX I-IV Projects were part funded by the European Union “Northern Periphery Programme 2007 – 2013”. Their website can be found at www.northernperiphery.eu.

The Programme aimed to help peripheral and remote communities on the northern margins of Europe to develop their economic, social and environmental potential. The diverse regions of the Northern Periphery Programme area share common features such as harsh climate conditions, sparseness of population and remoteness. Transnational cooperation provides excellent opportunities for finding new ways to address shared challenges and explore new opportunities.

The Northern Periphery Programme 2007-2013 (NPP) was part of the European Commission’s Territorial Cooperation Objective. The success of the programme was built on joint projects creating innovative products and services for the benefit of the programme partner countries and Europe as a whole.
