ROADEX IV (2008-2012)
ROADEX IV – “Implementing Accessibility” was the fourth, and final, ROADEX project part-funded by the EU Northern Periphery Programme. It aimed to implement the road technologies developed by ROADEX on to the Partner road networks to improve operational efficiency and save money. The Lead Partner for the project was the Northern Region of The Swedish Road Administration and the main project consultant is Roadscanners Oy.
The project was awarded NPP funding in September 2009 and held its first Steering Committee meeting in Luleå in November 2009. The Project closed on 30 June 2012 having successfully completed all of its agreed Tasks, and more.
A main part of the Project was a programme of 23 demonstration projects showcasing the ROADEX methods in the local Partner areas supported by a new pan-regional “ROADEX Consultancy Service” and “Knowledge Centre”.
Three research tasks were also undertaken as part of the Project: Task D1 “Climate change and its consequences on the maintenance of low volume roads”, “Road Widening” and Task D3 “Vibration in vehicles and humans due to road condition”
